Ways these Denver Broncos and the 'play-dough' quarterback could halt that Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates features live text for the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking during those contests were the number of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period versus Denver, set to play overseas this weekend.
However it proved positive to see how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have that deficit and then lead three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the victory 21-17.
The Broncos boast the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.
They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing extra pass rushers but they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.
At the start of the season, we said during a show how Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They finished last season well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
New TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
I love how the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.
This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable situations.
This has benefited QB the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass all over, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.
His strengths include his movement, being able to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to make throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.
For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.
If you consistently rush it eats up time and forces the defence to be on the field extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defence must cover the area downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.
The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems Payton likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to have a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. He can really build something up how he desires to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.
The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps make him what he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to be in their division. All they need to do is maintain this path.
They're really good at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win a game.
Ever since the league started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.
In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the West.
This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they face because Denver {beat|def
