Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
