Catastrophe Hits as Inadvertent Blast at Police Station in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Results in Nine Deaths
A devastating blast at a security post in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has led to the loss of nine persons and wounding to thirty-two more, according to official statements.
The incident happened when a collection of seized explosive materials unintentionally detonated during handling procedures.

The explosion occurred on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam police station, where blast substances confiscated in the Faridabad area in the northern province of Haryana were being kept briefly.
Local security director stated that the explosives were awaiting technical investigation when a "very unfortunate" mishap during management led to their blast at approximately 11:20 PM local.
Police Declarations
Police authorities verified that this was an "inadvertent blast" and not a terrorist attack. "Alternative theories regarding the origin of this event is unwarranted," highlighted the law enforcement head during a journalist meeting.
The security post suffered extensive destruction from the blast, with neighboring structures also being impacted by the strong explosion.
Impact and Fatalities
Multiple vehicles were "consumed by fire and turned into burned shells, with fragments distributed across the location," according to official reports.
"The force of the explosion was so powerful that some physical fragments were retrieved from close-by residences, approximately 100-200 meters distant the security post," stated an official source.
Most of the fatalities were law enforcement personnel, along with forensic personnel, two crime scene photographers, and a clothing professional who was accompanying the group.

The territory's Lieutenant Governor expressed commiserations and announced that an inquiry had been commissioned into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have commissioned a inquiry to ascertain the reason of the unintentional blast. Deeply anguished by the loss of precious lives due to exceptionally devastating inadvertent detonation at Nowgam security post in Srinagar. My sympathies to the mourning loved ones. I hope for quick healing of the wounded," expressed the authority on online channels.
