Brian Eno Calls On Support to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.
A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"
Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.
“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”
Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.
“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”
Production History and Star-Studded Lineup
The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in late summer. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.
The notable list of artists featured on Lullaby features a group of well-known figures from the industry. All were part of the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was produced by a team of talented individuals. The track features a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.
The team running the project have clarified that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.
“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”
The situation in the area was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property said to be in ruins or severely impacted.
“In that context, a couple of million won't make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is above all raising awareness for this issue and showing the human dimension of the story.”
The track is launching this Friday. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
